Pork Roast with Maple and Mustard Glaze

I know it's been a while since I have posted something, sorry :)

I made a Pork Roast with Maple and Mustard Glaze, I later turned the glaze into a gravy for potatoes and the pork....

I made dinner for my father-in-law so there aren't many pics of the finished product
I found the recipe here at all recipes.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 pounds boneless pork loin roast
  • 1 cup real maple syrup
  • 4 tablespoons prepared Dijon-style mustard
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons cider vinegar
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • salt to taste
  • ground black pepper to taste
I doubled the ingredients since my pork was around 4 pounds, I also cooked mine in the crock pot...

I cut up an onion

I cut up a couple celery and placed in baby carrots

I mixed the glaze and placed it on top, stir together the maple syrup, mustard, vinegar, soy sauce, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Place pork roast in a shallow roasting pan. Spread glaze evenly over pork roast.

I then let it cook on low heat for 4 hours, and high heat for another hour.  Make sure you pork roast is at 150 degree and then let it rest for 10 minutes.  It should be at 160 degrees when you serve it.

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Stir together the maple syrup, mustard, vinegar, soy sauce, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Place pork roast in a shallow roasting pan. Spread glaze evenly over pork roast.
  3. Roast pork in the preheated oven uncovered, until internal temperature measured with a meat thermometer reaches 160 degrees F (70 degrees C), about 1 hour. Remove from oven, and let rest about 10 minutes before slicing to serve .

There is also another recipe I want to try from all recipes that is a chili recipe it's found here my little sister showed me this recipe.  And then there is a recipe at cooks.com for a cheddar soup that is really yummy, I made it but didn't post pics

November Visiting Teaching

This months visiting teaching is to chose your favorite talk from the last general conference.  Here are some great ideas and handouts :)

InkaBlinka

November’s Visiting Teaching message is to be selected from our last General Conference. The talk given by Elder Richard G. Scott, “The Power of Scripture” was such a wonderful talk. Here are several thoughts of his to ponder :
“Pondering a scripture like that gives great direction to life. The scriptures can form a foundation of support. They can provide an incredibly large resource of willing friends who can help us. A memorized scripture becomes an enduring friend that is not weakened with the passage of time.
Pondering a passage of scripture can be a key to unlock revelation and the guidance and inspiration of the Holy Ghost. Scriptures can calm an agitated soul, giving peace, hope, and a restoration of confidence in one’s ability to overcome the challenges of life. They have potent power to heal emotional challenges when there is faith in the Savior. They can accelerate physical healing.”

 Thank you Inkablinka
